- | ===Important Elements of ATS===
| |
- |
| |
- | * Having a confident driver is critical, and so is a zipcar account
| |
- | * Someone should know someone with a Costco card
| |
- | * ''Communication'' and enthusiasm are key. Make sure that everyone knows that they shouldn't be afraid to speak up! If things aren't going well, changes can always be made.
| |
- | * Know what responsibilities are whose (read the other wiki pages)
| |
- | * Always be looking ahead, usually about 1.5 weeks but sometimes a month (large events)
| |
- | * Be conscious of funding deadlines
| |
- | * ATS is non-profit and we don't accept sponsorship
| |
- |
| |
- | ===Important Times of Year===
| |
- |
| |
- | * Late June/early July: tell Cultural Chairs to initiate conversations about Nightmarket planning
| |
- | * Mid July: First year summer mailing list due, a "slide" is required so don't wait until the last minute
| |
- | * Early August: Activities Midway signup due (easy form)
| |
- | * Fall: reserve Lobdell for Lunar New Year Festival, begin searching for outside talent (if getting)
| |
- | * Before spring break: do one-on-ones (only if necessary)
| |
- | * Late Feb: CPW events deadline
| |
- | * March: start planning Strait to Taiwan
| |
- | * Mid March: funding deadline for CPW

- | Getting and using funding is kind of like a game of spinning reality into something that sounds good to the people giving us money.
| |
- |
| |
- | ===Funding Sources===
| |
- |
| |
- | * Finboard (ASA): primary funding source
| |
- | ** 4 funding cycles (Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer): be wary of deadlines!
| |
- | ** 4 funding application categories: operations (almost never use), capital (basically to buy cooking supplies), publicity, and events. Money can be shuffled within each category, so if a certain event needs more money but it doesn't sound feasible, ask for more money for a different event to compensate
| |
- | ** Be sure to read up on what Finboard is looking for in a good application
| |
- | * ASA Main Account: where we keep our own money
| |
- | ** Receiver of membership fees, pastry sale profits, profits from events that we charge tickets for; source of funds for t-shirts, food runs, non-Finboard funded events (senior dinner, retreats, etc.)
| |
- | * Parsnip, the cashbox: IMPORTANT! We are technically not supposed to have a cashbox, but we do anyway, so don't run around talking about it to real adults
| |
- | ** Each year's exec board reserves the right to rename the cashbox
| |
- | ** Fed by the main account and needs to be kept moderately full ($500-$1000 is about right)
| |
- | ** Parsnip needs to be kept very safe. Ask someone for the combo.
| |
- | * LEF/ARCADE: for large/cultural events
| |
- | ** Requires an annoying application and jumping through some hoops, so stay on top of it
