Other Notes

On the whole, things went pretty smoothly. We purchased almost all food from CMart the Friday before, which worked fine. We stored everything in the fridge in McCormick Country Kitchen. Prep occurred the day of the event, in the afternoon. One family requested fresh seafood, which Baula took care of the morning of prep with a light HMart run. Attendance at prep was lighter than we would have liked, perhaps due in part to Asian Dance Team Member Retreat occurring the same day. Catering from Jojo Taipei was more expensive than we had anticipated, but we stuck pretty religiously to our $340 budget. Not sure if we went over, but even if we did, it was on the order of $10.

The event itself went fairly nicely; attendance was roughly 30 - 40 people. Everyone seemed to have fun, though there was some disappointment in the lack of a potluck-off between families. We did notice that House 6 was a bit small when it came time for family trivia (every was bunched up around the couches).

Also, do not get meat from CMart: go to Costco or HMart or something. CMart meat is jank. In the future, when our treasury grows plumper, we'll probably be making multiple shopping runs instead of just one to CMart, as we did before.
