  • Julia Huang: Helped carry a lot of stuff and arrange details
  • Janice Chui: Took care of McCormick Guest list

Food

  • Lychee Jelly
  • Rice crackers
  • Aloe water

Materials

  • 2x Mics
  • 1x Projectors
  • 2x Speakers
  • 1x Laptop
  • 1x Mixer? (Borrowed from Justin Xiao)

Other Notes

Preparing for this event was mildly frustrating due to the fact that newer laptops don't have a microphone jack anymore, and most of the laptops we tested with wouldn't recognize the microphones through the headphone jack. That resulted in about four hours of running around Next House trying out people's technologies. Radioshack also was no help. Should make sure beforehand that the event captains or other exec members have a laptop with such a port, or that a mixer is used. (Mixer? Joiner? Technology is confusing. Will get back with proper term once Justin replies.) Also make sure the proper cables (dongle?) are there for the projector (maybe it came with the projector? I don't know, Julia Huang sometimes makes magic.) ATS has one pair of speakers, maybe invest in another pair? (Another pair was definitely needed since there was the microphone output and audio output).

Otherwise, the event went well. About 200 people had RSVP'ed to the event, but maybe only twenty to thirty actually showed up. Considering 6.148 pitches timing and the rainy weather, it's a bit understandable. A lot of people recommended that we "dormspam" our events more often, as this event was their first ATS event. We bought 6 bottles of aloe juice but only 3 bottles consumed. Also we bought Dixie bathroom cups, which are about the size of shot glasses, which may explain why we overestimated the amount of aloe juice people would consume. Lychee jellies were very popular. We used youtube where a playlist of karaoke versions of songs or lyric videos was created, and people would add to the playlist from another computer besides the one being projected.
