Notes

  • Serve more than 2 slices per person, or make slices bigger
  • More cups next time?
  • Have membership cards set up with year next time.

Sign Up Table

  • had 3 laptops!
  • Entering in people's membership manually was a bit tricky, maybe find another way next time?
  • T-shirts - people didn't have money so not much got sold? Maybe find a better event to advertise shirts?

Game

  • Had people do pairings/"hugs" with different criteria, like # of families, different class years, etc. People wouldn't get into new groups though.
  • Tried to have people line up by dorm without talking, but somehow MIT students don't know the concept of a line.

Cooking

  • Prep started 2 hours before event
  • Start milk tea first! We made 2 pots of milk tea
  • Cooked dumplings in penthouse/6th floor kitchen- done approx on time? Make sure to have multiple people doing dumplings
  • Cooked scallion pancakes on griddles, cut into 8ths- finished in 1.5 hours for all 5 packs. Kept warm in oven @ ~150 degrees (F)
  • Ran out of condensed milk, so reused tea bags to make 1/2 pot of milk-free sweetened tea for lactose intolerant folks.
