Freshmen rep elections are coming up next Saturday!
The freshmen reps are members of the freshman class who basically serve as liaisons between the incoming freshman class and the current ATS executive board. You'll come to our exec meetings and become directly involved in the planning and orchestrating of ATS events. This way, you'll see how exec is run and gain experience working on our exec board. It's a great chance for you to bond with ATS exec, find out how we work, and contribute your own ideas.
To apply, just fill out the form here (The link can be found on the What's new section of the page)
You will also need to prepare a short platform for freshman dinner next week.

It's coming...
STRAIT TO TAIWAN!
Stata Center's Student Street
Friday, May 11, 10 am to sellout
Strait to Taiwan is ATS's largest annual spring event, designed to bring the MIT community to the beautiful country of Taiwan?without leaving campus! Our event converts Stata Center's student street into a lively, bustling street market of Taiwan, complete with neon signs, wooden booths, cheap but delicious food, glamour shots, and thousands of happy (and well-fed) people!
Featuring:
summer rolls, oyster pancakes, scallion pancakes, sticky rice, potstickers
curry turnovers, fried noodles, BOBA, almond tofu, and much much more!!!
Check out the pictures from last year's Strait to Taiwan on our "pictures" tab. See you all there!
Andy Lin , Webmaster (2007-04-19 22:10:06):
Due to problems with reservations, the Taiwan Cafe Run is now the Mulan Run.
Besides that, everything else about the trip (meeting place, time) will stay the same (6 PM Saturday, Student Center).
Sorry for the inconvenience, but we still hope to see you there!
Christine Lee , Co-President (2007-02-04 20:03:41):

Hey ATS!
The 2007 ITASA East Coast Conference is coming up this February 1-3! Harvard is hosting this year, and they're holding it at the Hyatt on Mem Drive right down the street from Next House! (how convenient ^_^)
This year's program looks really interesting and exciting. Plus, MIT already qualifies to participate in the Iron Chef and Mr. and Mrs. ITASA competitions!
The conference is a great opportunity to:
1. Get cultured! (daily workshop sessions),
2. Meet other Taiwanese Americans from schools around the area and all over the country, and
3. Have lots of fun with your fellow ATS-ers. :)
Check out more details at the conference website:
http://www.itasa.org/2007/east/
Pictures from last year's NYU conference can also be found by clicking on the pictures tab.
As always, email ats-exec@mit.edu with any comments/questions/suggestions. Thanks-- We're looking forward to a fun and exciting year!
